THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT
The Building Division issues permits for all new construction within Kelso. This involves the detailed examination of building plans, calculations, and specifications for compliance with building, plumbing and mechanical codes, as well as field inspections of all aspects of construction and its various component parts and systems.
Electrical permits are handled for the City of Kelso through the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.
The current building inspector is temporary and part-time and is available for inspections Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 11:00am. Inspections requests must be received by 5:00pm for next day inspections.
Office Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
